He was born in Tenerife. He studied structural music with Juan Hidalgo and jazz with Luis Vecchio although his musical training is basicly self-taught. He is also holder of a degree on philosophy. He´s got an extensive and diversive work and he´s already a classician on vanguard and electronic music in Spain. He began publishing at the beginning of the 80s. In 1982 he published “Arte Moderno” (Ninette in N.Y.). Then in 1983 he recorded his first L.P. all by himself “Juan Belda” for the record company G.A.S.A.-DRO. This music would be part of the multimedia concert “Móviles” represented at “Festival Internacional de Tárrega”, Madrid (Sala Astoria, Centro Cultural de la Villa), Estrasburgo (Festival Joven de Vanguardia), Amsterdam, Las Palmas (Teatro Guinguada), Tenerife (La Granja), Valencia and so on. His second L.P. “La Pasión” was recorded in 1988 also by G.A.S.A.-DRO, was live played, spreading out an audiovisual show in collaboration with Jorge Deniz.

Afterwoods he played concerts of electronic music all by himself and developed instalations in art galleries (Art Futura, Festival de Música Visual de Lanzarote, Espacio P, El Tanque, Fundación Jorge Castillo, Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid, ARCO and so on). In 1994 he travelled to India and developed for “RTVE MUSICA” a project about charming serpeants, produced by Fundación Jorge Castillo. In 1996 he opened the recording studio “Fonoelástica” in Madrid with his partner Juan Gómez. In 1998 he produced and played in the P.K.D.A...s CD “I amm”, “Work in Progress” together with “La Fura Dels Baus” Concert & Installation through R.S.D.I in Madrid, Barcelona and Cardiff.

He was producer and composer of WAX BEAT band (Lavas Lamp, Go outside & play and WaxBeat III). In 1999 he together to Juan Gómez produced and composed the CD “Etnotronics” (with the collaboration of Benjamin, Amparanoia, M.Ferrer, Macaco, Wax Beat, Basque Dub Foundation and M.Procesor). In 2000 he travelled to Kenia and developed for Nemoart a massai musical CD called “Sound Stone”. Betweeen 2005 and 2007 he published for Discos Necesarios “Desde El Hierro”, “Wine Lounge, vol1” and “Transfixiones” (with Hugo Westerdahl), and produced the CD of Ulises Pistolo “Música de las Esferas”. In 2006 he created “Juan Belda Bit Band” together with Juanjo Ortí, Yago Salorio, Epi and Ulises Pistolo. In 2008 he launches his last project for Discos Necesarios “I love you¡¡¡” collaborating with Jorge Pardo and Juanjo Ortí, has been presented in Berlin (Popkomm), Tenerife (El Sauzal) and Madrid (Feria Stampa, Fluido Rosa de Radio3). At present he also composes music for ballet, theatre, cinema and television.
