Proyecto: El dorado (Iraqi soundscape)
Eldorado : Iraq 2017 is an experiential, anthropological and cognition system based on three-dimensional virtual reality. It enables poetical and emotional experimentation for the participant and permits a new approach on human studies through immersive and interactive learning processes. As a traveller, the occidental participant discovers unknown soundscapes whereby they can only relate through their own emotional processes and interpretations. The oriental participant could interact with some of the langages spoken in the recorded spatialised sounds that they will encounter whilst walking on the platform. This territory is Iraq at a time of global warming. The sounds were recorded all around the country before the rise of Isis, in 2012 - 2013. Through a Unity3D gaming system we can now enter the unconscious and subjective memory and meteorology of a territory, its complexities and populations semiotics expressed before a civil war, untranslated.

At “Beautiful Knowledge,” an exhibit marking the Fulbright Program’s sixtieth anniversary in Israel, an installation entitled “Bright” uses heavenly spheres to represent connections between the scientific data produced by Israel’s Fulbright scholars, as each article serves as a star around which its citations gravitate. The tens of thousands of articles and citations were provided by Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services.

Es secular la pugna entre escritura e imagen. En la actualidad existen numerosos indicios de que es necesario un retorno hacia la imagen: es importante encontrar analogías con el lenguaje que puedan aplicarse a la información visual. Si ha sido posible descomponer el lenguaje en elementos y estructuras ¿sería posible hacerlo también con las imágenes? Utilizando modelos de visión artificial propongo la "palabra visual" como material para la creación.
Partiendo de una colección de imágenes, un algoritmo informático encuentra analogías entre ellas y es capaz de recortarlas y agruparlas en función del contenido visual que comparten. Se generan así nuevas imágenes a partir del conjunto analizado. El total de palabras visuales de cada colección de imágenes genera un vocabulario visual. Trabajo con la visión artificial en la "palabra visual" como nuevo material artístico para la creación.
Este proyecto se desarrolla como artista residente en Roca Umbert fábrica de las artes de Granollers (Barcelona)
