Electroacustic Concert

by Ainhoa Merzero & Iñigo Ibaibarriaga

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Un lieu verdoyant.

Philippe Leroux
for soprano voice & soprano sax
Hommage à Gérard Grisey
texte de Philippe Leroux d'après les Lamentations
du Prophète Jérémie

Program notes:

This piece has been composed in evidence admiration for Gérard Grisey. To the
average of the voice that loved un instrument for which had written, she speaks of the “no and yes”, of l'anxiety and of l'amargor, like this as of the inner look who prolonga further of the dead.
The lines mélodiques and l'harmony of the piece comes of upward and downward lines who are so much metaphors that of overriding movements of life and of dead.

Philippe Leroux.

Philippe Leroux has tackled almost every musical genre. The pieces he dedicated
to the training of instrumentalists are little stories - myths, miniature legends telling the origin of sounds. His electro-acoustic composition betray an appetite for sonic matter. That would most likely explain where the urge to explore sound came from (3). Few of his contemporary fellow-composers have worked with the voice as he has - we will come back to that later.

Desintegración corporea

Julio D´Escrivan
for soprano voice & tenor sax

Program notes:
The multimedia work is the end result of a creative project on writing: on musical writing, dance, the gestural writing of the musician/dancer and of his own image, in which the sound is the extension of the body and of the thought of the poet. Here, then, is the symbiosis between the essence of the word and the evolution of the Being, presented in the form of a new dramaturgy.

Julio D´Escrivan.
Senior Lecturer, Dept. Music and Performing Arts, Anglia Ruskin University; Cambridge. Julio d’Escriván is a composer who uses music technology, both for concert music, and in its applications to film, video and newmedia.

His electroacoustic music has been performed at numerous music festivals in countries such as The Netherlands (Gaudeamus), Spain (Centro Reina Sofía), The Basque Country, France, England, Scotland, Ireland, Argentina, Sweden, Norway, U.S.A. and Venezuela. It continues to be Broadcast in America and Europeand has been heard on BBC Radio 3, VPRO Amsterdam, Radio Nacional
de España, and RAI (Italy) among others.
